Election Nominations Process

The District Collector and Magistrate Dr. Suhas Divase has implemented regulations to control the number of vehicles and attendees during the nomination process for the assembly elections. These directives also prohibit rallies, gatherings, and slogans during nominations.

Restrictions on Vehicle Convoys, Crowd Size, and Rallies During Nomination Process 

During the assembly election process, District Collector and Magistrate Dr. Suhas Divase has issued directives to regulate the number of vehicles and individuals present during the nomination process at the office of the Returning Officer. The orders also prohibit rallies, public gatherings, and slogan-shouting during nominations.  

As per these directives, candidates are restricted from arriving at the Returning Officer’s office with more than three vehicles in their convoy. Additionally, only five individuals will be permitted inside the Returning Officer’s chamber, with no further entry allowed beyond this limit.  

Furthermore, any form of rally, public meeting, slogan-shouting, playing of instruments, singing, or election campaigning within the premises of the Returning Officer’s office during the nomination filing process is strictly prohibited.  

These restrictions will remain in effect until November 25, 2024. Any violation of these orders will invite penal action under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023, as stated in the order.
