Problems in Chikhali, Tamhane Vasti, and Mhetre Vasti Remain Unresolved for 10 Years – Ajit Gawhane

Priority will be given to resolving issues related to the red zone, water supply, roads, and electricity.

The basic issues in the areas of Chikhali, Tamhane Vasti, and Mhetre Vasti have remained unresolved for the past 10 years. The hanging sword of the red zone restrictions, insufficient and irregular water supply, pothole-ridden roads, and frequent power outages have caused immense frustration among residents. Former Standing Committee Chairman Ajit Gawhane has assured that these issues will be prioritized for resolution.

On October 17, Gawhane met with residents, society members, and entrepreneurs from these areas to understand their challenges.

During his interaction, Gawhane shared that the residents identified poor roads as their primary concern. Small business owners are particularly troubled by the condition of the roads and frequent power cuts.

The Chikhali, Moshi, and Talawade areas host numerous small industries, and Chikhali, Tamhane Vasti, and Mhetre Vasti serve as key routes for access to these companies. Many people commute to these areas for work, making it essential to provide basic amenities such as roads, electricity, and water. However, these needs have been neglected over the last decade.

Daily traffic congestion is a persistent issue in these areas, despite repeated complaints from citizens. Additionally, the development of roads outlined in the city’s development plan has not progressed under the current administration. No concrete steps have been taken to strengthen the power infrastructure. The red zone issue has not seen any meaningful follow-up either, leaving residents anxious about potential government actions.

Frustrated by these longstanding issues, residents are now ready for change.

Gawhane criticized the local BJP MLA, saying, “The mentality here is to lie confidently and keep pushing false claims. But citizens are no longer falling for these tricks.” He emphasized that the people are determined to bring about change, and transformation in the Bhosari constituency is inevitable.
