A young man lost money in online gaming and decided to learn vehicle theft through YouTube to recover his losses. However, the money he earned through theft was again lost in online gaming. Chakan police tracked him down to his home in Sangamner by analyzing CCTV footage. They seized 18 stolen two-wheelers worth ₹26 lakhs from him.

A young man lost money in online gaming and decided to learn vehicle theft through YouTube to recover his losses. However, the money he earned through theft was again lost in online gaming. Chakan police tracked him down to his home in Sangamner by analyzing CCTV footage. They seized 18 stolen two-wheelers worth ₹26 lakhs from him.
The arrested thief has been identified as Abhay Suresh Kharde (age 23, resident of Zhole, Sangamner, Ahmednagar, currently residing on Gunjalwadi Road, Sangamner, Ahmednagar). Additionally, four accomplices who assisted in selling the stolen vehicles were also arrested: Ravindra Nivrutti Gawhane (age 23, resident of Anjanapur, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar), Shubham Balasaheb Kale (age 24, resident of Kolpewadi, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar), Yash Nandkishore Thutte (age 22, resident of Chikhli, Buldhana, currently residing in Ashoknagar, Nashik), and Prem Bhaidas Devre (age 20, resident of Ashoknagar, Nashik).
The police seized 18 two-wheelers, including motorcycles worth ₹26 lakhs, from the accused.
150 CCTV Footage Reviewed
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Shivaji Pawar, Chakan Police Station had witnessed a surge in Bullet motorcycle thefts. In pursuit of a stolen Bullet, the police reviewed 150 CCTV footage clips, which led them to Sangamner, where the prime accused, Abhay Kharde, was taken into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing 18 two-wheelers from Chakan and nearby areas. His four accomplices, who helped him sell the stolen vehicles in rural areas, were also arrested. The police recovered 18 stolen Bullets from them.
Learned Theft from YouTube
The accused, Abhay Kharde, was an avid player of the online game Aviator, where he lost around ₹8-10 lakhs. To recover his losses, he decided to turn to theft and learned how to steal two-wheelers by watching videos on YouTube. Since Bullet motorcycles fetched higher resale prices, he preferred stealing them. The police recovered 11 Bullet motorcycles, 6 Splendors , and 1 Yamaha from his possession, totaling ₹26 lakhs in value.

This successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey, Joint Commissioner Shashikant Mahawarkar, Additional Commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shivaji Pawar, and Assistant Commissioner Rajendrasinh Gaur. The team led by Chakan Senior Police Inspector Pramod Wagh included officers Natha Gharge, Assistant Inspector Prasanna Jarad, Ganpat Dhaigude, Hanumant Kamble, Bhairoba Yadav, Sunil Shinde, Shivaji Chavan, Raju Jadhav, Rishikumar Jhankar, Sudarshan Barde, Sunil Bhagwat, Mahesh Koli, Mahadev Vikkad, Revnath Khedkar, Sharad Khairnar, Nitin Gunjal, Kiran Ghodke, and Madhuri Kachate.
