ISRO Comes to Your Doorstep
‘Space on Wheels’ Arrives in Western Maharashtra; To Be Held at Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park and SNBP School, Rahatani from October 19-22
Pimpri-Chinchwad, October 17 : The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the pride of the nation, is coming to meet the people. Under the ‘Space on Wheels’ initiative, students and science enthusiasts in Western Maharashtra will get the thrilling experience of ISRO’s remarkable achievements. This special science outreach program, organized jointly by Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) and ISRO, was launched with great enthusiasm in Pune on October 17, 2024.
On October 19 and 20 (Saturday and Sunday), ‘Space on Wheels’ will be set up at Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park and Planetarium, welcoming visitors from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Following this, the exhibition will move to SNBP School in Rahatani on October 21 and 22, offering students of the school and nearby areas a chance to explore.
This information was provided by Vijnana Bharati and Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park. The exhibition will travel through Pune, Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur districts. The initiative aims to promote space science and create awareness among students. Vijnana Bharati, in collaboration with its Western Maharashtra branch, is conducting this outreach program, with the first phase covering Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
“The progress of space science has significantly contributed to India’s development. Over the last five and a half decades, ISRO has overcome numerous challenges to take India to the forefront of the space era, benefiting humanity across various domains. This exhibition offers a glimpse of ISRO’s progress, and we invite students, teachers, and citizens to take full advantage of this opportunity,” said the Directorate of Pimpri-Chinchwad Science Park.
“We are delighted to participate in this initiative as it offers students an opportunity to directly engage with space technology, helping us fulfill our role as a progressive educational institution,” said Mrs. Jayashree Venkataraman, Director and Principal of SNBP School.

What to Expect in the Event :
Along with the ‘Space on Wheels’ event, a science exhibition will be organized. Quiz competitions will also be conducted to test students' knowledge and creativity, with support from the host institutions.
