Former Students and Teachers Relive Cherished Memories
Class Reunites After 37 Years at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj School
(PCB): On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the 1986-87 batch of Class 10 students from Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Secondary School, Kasarwadi, held a reunion and teachers' felicitation event. What began as a reunion quickly transformed into a nostalgic classroom session, as former students and teachers joyfully revisited cherished memories after 37 years.
The event was chaired by Adv. Karbhari Tilekar, with notable attendees including former councilor Shyam Lande and Vasant Tilekar, president of the "Mazi Aavadti Shala" (My Beloved School) group. During the program, the former teachers shared life lessons with the students. They emphasized that a teacher remains a lifelong learner and urged everyone to pursue their hobbies despite life’s hectic pace. They reflected on the autumn phase of life, expressing that any day could be their last, while also highlighting how a class teacher plays the role of a mother to students. The teachers fondly recalled how the Kasarwadi School gave them some of the happiest moments of their lives and expressed joy in seeing the seeds they sowed grow beautifully. They concluded with advice to always stay mindful of one’s duty to society.
In his speech, former student Shyam Lande reminisced, “Our school life was full of joy and mischief. We became who we are today thanks to both our teachers and their punishments.” Adv. Karbhari Tilekar, in his presidential address, reminded everyone that while teachers are great, the greatest guides in life are parents. He encouraged students to follow their conscience and act with integrity, assuring them that success will follow.
In his introductory speech, Nandkumar Kamble announced, “The group 'Mazi Aavadti Shala' was formed to bring together old classmates to not only have fun but also carry out constructive activities.” Several alumni, including Ravindra Landge, Chiman Landge, Ganesh Pathare, Prakash Kanade, and others, shared heartfelt memories. Through a lottery game, participants picked chits and narrated funny incidents on topics such as favorite teachers, strict teachers, recess-time fun, classroom escapes, math drills, and unforgettable memories.
The event was organized by alumni including Ghamaji Landge, Raju Khaladkar, Somnath Shinde, Anil Bangar, and Prashant Polkam. Shashikant Shinde conducted the program, and Vasant Tilekar expressed gratitude to all attendees.
