(PCB): A major commotion was witnessed during the inauguration of the Waqf Board office in Ratnagiri today. Members of the Sakal Hindu Samaj and BJP workers protested by showing black flags to Guardian Minister Uday Samant. The Sakal Hindu Samaj and BJP strongly opposed the inauguration of the Ratnagiri Waqf Board office. Despite tight police security, the event proceeded, but as Uday Samant was heading towards the venue, protesters displayed black flags, prompting the police to become alert. The police attempted to restrain the protesters, and a large number of BJP and Hindu organization workers gathered outside the office. Seeing the crowd, Uday Samant had to conclude the event quickly. Even after the inauguration, protesters chanted slogans against him.

Tense Situation During Waqf Board Office Inauguration in Ratnagiri

During the inauguration of the Waqf Board office in Ratnagiri, chaos erupted. The office was inaugurated by Minister Uday Samant today, but BJP and the Sakal Hindu Samaj opposed the event. As a form of protest, the Sakal Hindu Samaj workers held black flags and demonstrated against the event. When Uday Samant arrived, protesters displayed black flags and raised slogans against him, demanding the cancellation of the Waqf Board office.

Protesters' Reaction Against Waqf Board Office

Protesters from the Sakal Hindu Samaj expressed their views, saying, "Our only concern is that the Waqf Board has, till date, taken control of land belonging to Bharat Mata and the Hindu community. While the Waqf Board Bill is still pending as of March 8, 2024, setting up an office in a cultured city like Ratnagiri is something the Hindu community strongly opposes. The administration has granted us the right to protest," said the demonstrators.
