Maharashtra’s Government is Unethical and Unconstitutional… Otherwise, Division Will Escalate and Chaos Will Ensue

Advocate Aseem Sarode

(PCB) – Maharashtra's politics is currently facing a crisis. The state has an unethical and unconstitutional government. Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar has invited the vultures of power. If such violations of the Constitution continue across India, there will be a rise in division, and chaos will literally erupt, expressed senior lawyer Advocate Aseem Sarode while speaking in Pimpri Chinchwad city on Wednesday (October 2). He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah as being insensitive.

Advocate Sarode was interviewed by senior journalist Nitin Brahme at the G.D. Madgulkar Hall in Nigdi, organized by the Disha Social Foundation. During the nearly one-and-a-half-hour interview, Sarode expressed sharp opinions on various topics. He clarified that he has not taken on a campaign against the BJP or any contract; rather, he will continue to fight against autocratic tendencies and violence.

Sarode stated that Narvekar’s decision regarding the disqualification of legislators, declaring that no one is disqualified, is laughable. He accused him of merely stalling the process. He emphasized that strict laws are necessary to prevent further party switching.

Regarding the case of the victimized girl in the Badlapur assault case, he noted that the police did not take her true testimony. As a result, we were planning to record an independent statement and present the full story in court. However, before that, the accused was encountered, which raises suspicions. This is not just about delivering justice to the Badlapur victims; it is about ensuring that every girl receives safe education, for which necessary laws must be enacted.

He praised Supreme Court Justice Chandrachud as an excellent personality, expressing high expectations from him. He indicated that Prime Minister Modi's visit to his home is part of a pressure tactic. Modi tends to act unexpectedly, similar to when he visited Justice Gogoi and then Justice Gogoi ruled in favor of the government, subsequently becoming a Rajya Sabha member, which everyone has seen.

Sarode remarked that governors are expected to work according to the council of ministers. However, Bhagat Singh Koshyari acted arbitrarily during his tenure as governor. He completely disregarded the council of ministers. I referred to his overall functioning as “nonsense.” This upset his beneficiaries. Koshyari operated with a specific ideology and engaged in dubious activities. There was an attempt to overthrow a government established through democratic means. It is expected that the Constitution should be respected. Emotional issues are used to create division, and an atmosphere is generated as if wrongdoing is a noble deed, he stated.

At the event, various dignitaries were present, including organization president Balasaheb Jawalkar, working president Rajendra Karpe, vice president Santosh Babar, former chairman of Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority Sadashiv Khade, president of Prerna Bank Kantilal Gujjar, senior social worker Manav Kambale, former municipal councilor Rahul Kalate, Maruti Bhapkar, Amit Gawde, Rajabhau Golande, Jitendra Nanavare, Santosh Kambale, Raju Bansode, Vishnu Pant Newale, and Nivrutti Shinde. The event was initiated by Jagannath (Nana) Shivale, with Akshay More as the moderator and Nandkumar Kambale expressing thanks.

In a lighter vein, Advocate Aseem Sarode made a humorous remark about Ajit Pawar taking a watch but Sharad Pawar quickly removing the battery from it, suggesting that Ajit’s watch would not work as a result. He noted that the Shiv Sena faced significant backlash for delaying decisions during the power transition process, emphasizing that the Supreme Court may need to decide who owns the name “Shiv Sena” and the bow and arrow symbol. He pointed out that the Election Commission does not have the authority to determine “who the party belongs to.”

Political Dynamics Around Reservation Issues

Reservation is an important issue. It is essential to have equal opportunities for living and education. Currently, the reservation issue has become a political tool. We should avoid movements that disrupt public life. Rahul Gandhi is not against reservation. Instead of creating a negative atmosphere around him, Modi and Shah should implement the thoughts of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Sarode expressed.
