Congress Party Holds Satyagraha Movement on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

The Pimpri Chinchwad City District Congress Committee organized a Satyagraha movement at Finolex Chowk, Morwadi, to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.

The movement aimed to highlight the lack of progress in constructing a memorial for Mahatma Gandhi at a significant historical site in Pimpri. Gandhi was briefly detained at this location during the Quit India Movement.

The Congress Party has been advocating for the memorial's construction for the past five years, but the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has not taken any action. The Satyagraha movement, led by city president Dr. Kailas Kadam, demanded the historical preservation of the site and the immediate commencement of the memorial's construction.

The event witnessed the participation of several prominent figures and officials of the city Congress, including Dr. Kailas Kadam, Shyamala Sonawane, Bindu Tiwari, Bhau Saheb Mugutmal, and many others.
